Warning- some books are intense. Reading the authors trigger/content warnings is always a good idea. Some of the books I like can be dark in more ways than one at times, that could make a person uncomfortable.

Damn! These two authors know how to hook you. This is the 3rd instalment of this dangerous world.
The female lead Ophelia is compelling and tugs at your heart strings. The unique look of her is striking, with the duel colored eyes, pale hair, and pale skin... The angelic picture is right there and isn't one that the authors shy away from and instead they build upon it. creating a dark twisted past for her, that has my blood boiling and inwardly cheering for every hurdle Ophelia jumps.
Ophelia's 3 men are not to be crossed. They each have a past, one more damaging than the last depending on who you identify with. Cain with his abusive father, has him as a child racing across the fields at night in his childhood to Ophelia's home for the sense of safety. Malachi and Roman's past are not sunny either, but I think it best if I let you discover them when you read.

Each book is centered around one(or two) carnival worker, while still giving you insight on the past and future characters. I personally love it when an author does this.

Edwards captivates me with her lead character, Mara. Her past and magic shape her. She has used her to protect the one person she loves. (Just like any of us would do.) Consequences of this have isolated her and only driven her belief that she is being punished . The magic in her equals pain for her if she touches an object or person. I for one would hate to have this. When Rome comes into the picture I am on the edge of my seat. The balance he brings and passion for what they will be is unmatched. Fated Mates! (.....Damn he sounds hot! )
